2. The Riddle Box
After what feels like a decade, or two, you wake up in an empty room with walls made of stone bricks.
A short peek around your environment reveals that there is nothing but a wooden door in the room. The key to the door is conveniently located inside the lock.
You turn the key in the key lock to open the door. But as you turn the key around, the room turns around you with it. You all fall down to what was the ceiling of the room, except for the person holding the key, to whom the laws of gravity in the previous state of the room apply.
(Letting go of the key doesn’t change the situation.)
Someone walks up the wall and realizes that they can walk up the wall. All around the room actually is walkable. Gravity doesn't apply anymore.
Take the key out of the lock, and a pedestal appears in the middle of the room, and on it a tome.
With a DC 15 Intelligence/Investigation check, you are able to decipher the tome and realize that it is written in the same language that you have encountered in the catacombs.
Delving deeper into the tome, you realize that you can actually understand every single word written in it.
Tome of Riddles
What you desire is beyond the door. The key to it in your hand. But what will it take for you all, the secrets of the tome, will you comprehend?

Wrong answers cause Shadowkin Spawn to appear: basic foot soldiers that are around 6' high. They wield obsidian swords. They are made of pure darkness, which looks like gathering of clouds really. They enter the room by phasing through the door.
First incorrect answer causes just one shadowkin to appear. The second mistake will spawn two, third four, fourth eight and so on. The players need to answer four riddles correctly.
They also need to figure out that they have to write their answers down in blood, with each attempt damaging them for 1 HP. But they do have unlimited tries.
After all four riddles are answered, the room turns back to its proper orientation and gravity re-establishes itself. The tome is consumed in black flames, as the door is flung open, revealing behind it absolutely nothing. Dare you enter?
