10. Dramatis Personae

I did background checks on the peeps you’ve seen tonite. Y’know to make sure there are no loose ends, no misunderstandings, no phone calls, that kinda thing.

First is Guillaume. Full name, Guillaume Tremblay. Family escaped from the Great Montreal Riot back in ‘29. He grew up mostly in Night City, but retains his accent out of respect for his culture. Named his little game shop after the one he used to hang out at in Montreal too. Chez Geeks. Pity what happened at Montreal. At any rate, Guillaume is a nice guy, a bit too obsessed maybe with the early ‘10s and Magic The Gathering. Can’t believe they still make sets for that game yeesh. Also, no, they have never sold drones at Chez Geeks. Especially not military grade ones, Jimmy.

Next is Vadim Dimitrov and it seems like he was a nobody after all. Just driving a truck back and forth and seemingly not doing a great job at it. Corporate didn’t seem to care too much that he took his time to have some pho every now and then. Oh yeah, they knew about it but didn’t care. Vadim’s deliveries were never the special, high quality stuff that his other colleagues deliver. A shame he didn’t listen when you blatantly lied to his face Alvin. Alas.

The woman who responded to Alvin’s call was Sharla Stevens. A relatively new hire, who reports to Martine Hanson. Working at a call-centre ain’t glamorous, but RCM pays higher than most other corpos.

Weirdly enough, I wasn’t able to find much info about Mihaeyl the IT guy. Being an IT guy, he is, I guess, pretty good at covering his tracks. Honestly, I’m not even sure Mihaeyl actually exists and/or works at RCM. Still, he was able to get that truck open for Alvin and Jimmy, so he must’ve been legit. Maybe he was just bored. Maybe he decided you guys had worked hard enough.

Oh! I almost forgot the pho shop’s owner. Nguyen Han has run that little pho shop for over 50 years now. Insane! He caters to all kinds of people, some of them the more… disreputable kind. So he’s used to violence happening around his shop. All he seems to care about is to make sure he gets paid. Smart business acumen.

It seems like RCM doesn’t employ their highest grade security personnel at the bottom floors of the HQ. I found that fascinating, maybe they don’t think anyone is dumb enough to break in. Maybe they don’t think anyone can get out if they do break in. So the four guys that Edge dispatched at the Warehouse Sector weren’t particularly important from a corporate point of view. Everyone is disposable anyhow in Night City eh gamers?

That’s enough for now. I’ll try to get you more details about the CGE Department Incident soon.
