1. Shoot-Out At The Ramen Shop
At this point, I don’t know why the Warlords did what they did. It was good that the edgerunners were there, though. It gives Tease a way to deal with this, without getting directly involved. And besides, she appreciates it when things get personal, and it doesn’t get any more personal than having bullets fly over your heads.
Here’s what happened: But for posterity’s sake. It must’ve been what, around 9pm? Ol’ Master’s joint was as crowded as it could be, the air dank with that tonkotsu steam, bones boiling, the guests slurping away at some good ass noodles.
Speaking of the crowd, what a bunch of misfits. Almost cliché: A kid, a cyber-samurai, a Nicolas Cage poser, and a middle-aged rockerboy. Honestly, I’m hella interested in finding out what kinda shenanigans they get into.
Anyway, suddenly, glasses behind them shatter, and they throw themselves on the floor. The tragically familiar sounds of guns being fired. They look outside and see three bulky dudes, with pointy ears, and tooth implants so it looks like they have tusks.
They kill the biggest one without much trouble. Edge slices the guy’s head clean off. And as they were gunning down the two remaining grunts, Tease herself shows up and ends the fight. She politely asks (forces) them to come with her to the HQ so she can figure out just what the hell went on.
Tease is shaken to hear that Master (the ramen shop owner) has been killed. One of the bullets has gone clean through his chest, possibly destroying his heart and part of his left lung completely.
Someone has broken the truce at Shin-DTR and it won’t be long before everything goes to hell. As such, Tease hires these edgerunners to calm things down. Their task is simple: Figure out why the Warlords attacked the ramen shop, and then eliminate them.
